RG Primary Care Rotation
Under the grant, eligible prevocational junior doctors will be given an opportunity to work in rural primary care settings located in Modified Monash Model (MMM) 2-7 areas. The Rural Junior Doctor Training Innovation Fund- Rural Generalist (RJDTIF-RG) program forms an extension of the original RJDTIF programme’s $550M Stronger Rural Health Strategy announced in the 2018-19 Commonwealth Budget over five years and commenced in 2018.
The program places prevocational junior doctors into Primary Care placements for a term to give them an immersive experience of the whole gamut of General Practice in a rural setting and allows junior doctors the opportunity to increase their understanding of the unique challenges of practicing Medicine in rural communities.
